When you want to listen to your ipod in your vehicle there are two approaches: factory retrofit kits and The Dension aftermarket ipod interface. Read on for details on both options:
We have factory ipod retrofit kits available for most 2005-present Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The factory kit supplies an ipod cable that mounts in the glove box or center console and relays audio and commands to and from the ipod as well as charging. The factory kit allows you to control your ipod using the steering wheel controls and displays the ipod song title information on the instrument cluster driver display. Note: The factory ipod kit DOES NOT display song information on the actual command head unit nor does it allow control of the ipod using the head unit controls.
We are an official US dealer for Dension ipod interface kits. The Dension is an excellent product that allows your ipod to be interfaced with your fiber-optic based Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, or Audi factory Audio system. The Dension interface system allows you to control your ipod using the factory Audio system controls or the steering wheel controls and displays the song information on the factory LCD on newer models. The Dension system also includes an Auxilliary input for adding an additional audio source such as a video system or satellite radio.
